Having fun in the snow

There was a big snow dump last night and the weather was great today. So we took our dogs to the Great Lake and had fun in the snow.

Dudley has been with us for a few years but we had never taken him to any snow field. This was his first encounter. On his very first step, he sank right into the soft snow half buried. We had lots of laughs.





He stayed on the bitumen refusing to move.


"I hate walking on the snow!"

This is the Great Lake in the central plateau in Tasmania, about an hour's drive from Launceston to the lookout (via Liffey). The lookout is on Highland Lakes Road (A5). We did not go all the way to the lake as we set off fairly late and needed to drop by a friend's place this afternoon. If you want to know where exactly it is, look for  Liawenee or Miena on Google Maps.  Spring is soon coming.  If you want to see snow there, go soonest possible before it is gone. On our way there, we saw kids throwing snow balls and snow men along the road. You don't need a 4WD or snow chains to get there. Just drive slowly and carefully.
