Sick hostess delays flight

A JETSTAR flight from Hobart Airport was delayed this afternoon – because a hostess had called in sick.

The 12.40pm flight to Melbourne has been delayed for nearly four hours because the airline had no one available to cover the sick staff member.

Jetstar recently closed its Hobart base and sacked all its Hobart staff.

The company has to fly in a replacement staff member from the mainland before the flight can leave.

Passengers rang the Mercury to say an announcement was made over the public address system informing them of the delay.

They said the company has offered passengers a meal voucher.

Did you read it properly?  Its a hostess, not a pilot.
