Two Days
Stroll around the pretty colonial cottages and laneways of Battery Point and grab lunch or coffee ‘n’ cake at Jackman & McRoss. Wander down to beautiful Salamanca Place and see Salamanca Arts Centre. Look through the Maritime Museum of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery before a saunter along the Sullivans Cove waterfront and fish ‘n’ chips for dinner at Fish Frenzy on Elizabeth Pier. Head to Knopwood’s Restreat, the quintessential Hobart pub, for a few after-dinner beers.
On day two, recover with coffee and eggs Benedict at Retro Café then join the free-wheelin’ Mt Wellington Descent for a coast down to the coast. Back at sea level dig into dinner, drinks and some live music at Republic Bar & Café in North Hobart.
Four Days
With bit more time on your hands, head out to Moorilla Estate for a long boozy lunch, or cruise south down the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to Peppermint Bay. Snooze the afternoon away on the sunny lawns of the Botanical Gardens before a classy dinner at Marque IV.
On day four visit the nearby historic town of Richmond for fabulous photo opportunities or the waterfalls and peaks of glorious Mt Field National Park. |
