Snow shoeing on Ben Lomond

We went snow shoeing on Ben Lomond today. The weather was windy and extremely wet.

Half way up to the summit, it started to slit.

It was so miserable that we decided to have an early lunch at the Alpine Hotel.


After lunch, we started to ascent. Visibility was like 20m.




Back down, the visibility improved a bit. Anyway, there was not much fun, given the condition, and we decided to head home.

did you go ski? wish I could be there. It would be great fun. :-)

I am only a downhill skier, okay but not very skilled.  I have skied on Ben Lomond years ago but found the ski runs not well groomed.  Since then, I go there just for snow walks. Anyway, the fee of $65 fee for the ski lifts is overpriced. I would rather pay a bit more flying to NZ for skiing.
