On 24 August 2013, a very cold day with heavy snow on high grounds, my husband and a friend went show shoeing on Ben Lomond and built an igloo, planning to spend a night there. I wasn't there though I would very much like to (I was in Hong Kong at that time).

Start of the adventure

A beautiful day to be out on the snow

The gear - a pair of snow shoes, a saw, a spade and a water bottle

After finding a good location, the construction began

Off they went for a walk and it started to get dark

Returning to find the wall caved in and a crack

The weather got warmer and warmer; the snow and ice started to melt and the structure became unstable.

After some futile attempts to fix the structure, they decided to find their way back to the car even though it was already dark.
