《塔大2012亚洲龙年庆贺活动 UTAS Lunar New Year》

活动将于早上9点开始，中午时间结束。海报附上。
到场者将有机会参与赛龙舟，观看寺庙僧人祈福，更有精彩的多元文化表演及互动活动。热诚欢迎大家的参与！

The Water Dragon lived up to its name.Defying the positive weather forecast, the finest of drizzle continued throughout the morning, limiting planned activities and performances to inside the Derwent Sailing Squadron clubrooms, but providing perfect weather for Dragon Boating racing! Dragon boats paddled through the mist that clung to the river, on mirror water, providing a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere for volunteer and guest paddlers.
With the 2012 new year beginning on 23 January, festivities are traditionally celebrated throughout the moon’s first cycle of the year. UTAS took this opportunity to celebrate our international community and connections.
The event, held on Saturday morning, 18 February, included a Buddhist blessing of the dragon boats, in which Paddy Barbour, Deputy Director of Accommodation Services, dotted the dragon eyes with paint to awaken the dragon spirit. Other spectacles included a dramatic Lion Dance, traditional peacock dance, lute and zither performances, Chinese games, bell ringing to encourage good luck throughout the coming year, and the opportunity for members of the public to paddle a dragon boat, under the watchful eye of the Dragon Boating Tas crew.
